There is nothing closer to flying without wings than being on the back of a horse.

Horses are amazing in that they loan us their ability to momentarily fly without wings.

Krista Diane Oldroyd works at Apple Ridge Farm in Addison County, Vermont. Apple Ridge Farm is a working farm surrounded by rolling hills, nearby Lake Champlain and backed up by the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks. Driving on the gravel, or what Vermonters call "dirt" road to the farm, one cannot help but notice the brilliant white fences that keep in a roaming herd of Buffalo, Scottish Highlanders, and horses. Apple Ridge would not be complete without their apple orchard that sits on a hill above the pastures.
