The Summer of 2022
This summer, I continued exploring Montana and Idaho. I found new water to fish, made new friends, visited old friends, and listened to their stories.
I attended the Elk River writers' workshop, an enlightening experience that will help me sharpen my skills for storytelling, photography, writing, and activism.
If" Summertime is always the best of what might be, " Charles Bowden wrote, then I exceeded my expectations.

Early morning drive
sun illuminates a cloud
joyful observance
Shadows tell stories
define light, color, contour
in wild open space
"...in the mornings, sun takes up mist, light sucks up vapor, and that process reminds you there is a great power in that particular moment, which an age of prudence can never retract. One such moment changes everything."

The hidden forest
stands tall in a vast landscape
ancient spirits speak
Ancient forest burns
fiery tongues hiss and glow
the sky black with smoke
